On April 10, 2025, the ZSM in Rzesz\u00f3w opened its doors to prospective students, their parents, and anyone interested in technology and modern vocational education. The Open Day proved to be a true celebration of science, technology, and creativity, and the numerous guests were able to see for themselves that learning at the ZSM is more than just lessons\u2014it's passion and practice at its best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Numerous attractions awaited visitors: a flight simulator, modern VR stations, amateur radio demonstrations, chemistry experiments, hairdressing demonstrations, 3D prints, and performances by the school band. Each stand had its own charm, but one place attracted particular attention \u2013 the stand of the \"Mechanik TEAM\" School Robotics Club, which was bustling with activity throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was here that one could encounter Fredzio<\/strong> \u2013 a remote-controlled mobile robot built by the students, which quickly gained visitors' sympathy. Visitors \u2013 from young children to adults \u2013 had the opportunity to independently control the robot, avoid obstacles, and experience the sheer joy of interacting with technology in person. Although constructed from simple materials and on a limited budget, Fredzio<\/strong> is the result of hundreds of hours of work, testing, and the enormous commitment of the club's students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next to Freddie, his smaller \"friend\" proudly displayed himself \u2013 a caterpillar mBot equipped with a line sensor, allowing it to navigate its designated route with astonishing precision. This seemingly small robot demonstrated how, with the right software and the use of sensors, movement can be automated and a system responsive to its surroundings can be created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the \"Mechanik TEAM\" eagerly shared their knowledge and experience, discussing the process of building a robot from scratch and learning programming, 3D design, and electronics. They also spoke about the competitions they have participated in, including the X-Challenge 2024 and the \"Naukolatek\" competition, where they gained valuable experience working with the ROS2 system and autonomous navigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who wanted to test their knowledge, a special robotics test was prepared, and for aviation technology enthusiasts \u2013 the opportunity to control a virtual drone in the simulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stand of the School Robotics Club not only aroused great interest, but also inspired \u2013 many young participants left the school with a twinkle in their eyes and the question: Can I also build a robot like that?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \"Mechanik TEAM\" team has already announced that they will present even more advanced projects and new designs at the next Open Day. Because in the world of robotics \u2013 as the club members say \u2013 the best is yet to come!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
