Mechanik Team's report from XChallenge 2025 – Task Hunters
This year's XChallenge 2025 in the Task Hunters category was exceptionally intense and emotional for our Mechanik Team. Twenty-one teams entered, and after the presentations, we placed 9th, which gave us a strong motivational boost right from the start.
Unfortunately, despite virtually non-stop work to get the robot up and running, we ultimately only managed to launch with functioning engines. The remaining systems weren't fully operational in time, but we weren't about to give up. We were determined to show that even with such a limited setup, we could still compete for points.
And… it worked.
The run went surprisingly well, and our robot performed well beyond expectations. We completed all the additional tasks, which was already a major success. However, the real game-changer was Filip's skill, as he guided the robot perfectly around the track. Thanks to his excellent instincts, we managed to complete two basic tasks:
- raising the flag,
- shot at the pirate.
These two successes were a huge surprise for us and at the same time confirmation that even a robot in a limited configuration, but guided by a steady hand, can make a difference.
Ultimately, our robot Fredzio 2.0 took 17th place.
Although this year's event lacked full functionality and the competition was more challenging, we return enriched by valuable experience and even more motivated. Now we know exactly what to work on, and X-Challenge 2026 is already looming on the horizon.
The Team Mechanic hasn't said his last word yet!
